Environment Activity - WasteServ Site Visit & Swimming at Inspire - Sat 22nd Oct 2011

It might have been a day full of rain and bad weather but this did not stop the Sliema Cubs from meeting up early in the morning for a full day activity! After many instructions and activities based on our environment, we thought it would be best to sum up everything we learnt by actually visiting a Waste management plant - Sant Antnin (WasteServ) in M’Skala. Here the Cubs had a tour of the premises including the control room and watched the workers manage our waste ready to be exported abroad to be reused once again! Following this, we moved down the road to INSPIRE. Here, we were meant to do some form of voluntary service, however, due to the rain we couldn’t. We therefore refreshed the Cubs on their swimming techniques and off we went to start our swimming badge! After passing this badge, Cubs were free to swim and play in the pool until it was time to go home... :( A big thank you to Maria at WasteServ and the Inspire organisation who helped organise this event.
