Tower Camp - Torri Mamo - Fri 31st July - Sat 1st Aug 2015

Tower Camp 2015 took place at Torri Mamo. Camp was won by Multicoloured Soldiers Six consisting of: Sixer: Beppe; Second Sixer: Dawn; Cubs: Aaron, Max, Robert and Holly. Cubs arrived at HQ Sliema at 6pm on Friday 31st July and from there a van took us up to Torri Mamo to kick start our 1 night camp! After being split into Sixes, sixers were assigned by Tabaqui based on their arrows. Second Sixers were chosen by the Cubs. A quick orientation was given and boundaries explained. Cubs then helped unload equipment and soon after had packed dinner. After dinner, Cubs went on a night hike led by Hiawatha Abela. Cubs walked for a good 1.5hours from the tower to St Thomas Bay and then through the countryside fields to get to the top of the hill and reach the coast. Some Cubs were a bit on edge walking through the fields at night but the leaders assured them everything was safe! At the top of the hill Tabaqui and Hiawatha led the Cubs, one by one, to a safe distance away from the cliff edge to point out some things such as the tankers all lined up outside and why, the steep cliff, the fish farms and helped them guess that we were on the southern most tip of Malta! On our way back we got ice-cream and then called it a night! Saturday morning kicked off with PT by Scout Luke and then breakfast on the roof. Whilst the Cubs were busy making their Sesame Biscuits with Zoe, the rest of the leaders were busy filling up hundreds of water balloons for the water fight! Biscuits done, quick game around the moat done and then it was time to cool down with the water balloon fight! The Sixes had their own bases in the moat with a 'flag' hidden around their base. The aim of the Six was to breach the base and take their oppoents flag whilst at the same time dodging water balloon from other Cubs and leaders positioned on the roof! After cleaning up, it was soon time for lunch which the Cubs cooked themselves on BBQs. The leaders opted to shorten camp since it was too hot to play any games outside even in the shade. Pickup was shifted from 6pm to 4.30pm with the van calling for us at 3pm. In the meantime Cubs cleared up the site to leave it cleaner than we found it, packed up all equipment and played some indoor games.
